Our Weight Loss Center Coordinator
Sabrina Gary has been a devoted member of the Central Baptist Hospital team for 13 years.Sabrina joined the staff of the Surgical Weight Loss Program in May of 2008, eager to help men and women on their journey to a healthier life through surgical weight loss. As our office coordinator, Sabrina will help guide you through your appointments and consults, labs and classes. Right up to the day of surgery and for every post-op visit, Sabrina is here for you.

Our Program Coordinator
Angie Ketron, BS, RN, CBN has a nursing diploma from the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kentucky. Angie has been a nurse for 19 years, and became a Certified Bariatric Nurse and a member of The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in 2010. As the program coordinator, Angie oversees the multi-disciplinary team of professionals dedicated to the care of bariatric surgery patients and safeguards the standards required to maintain the Center Of Excellence Designation as denoted by the Surgical Review Corporation.

Our Clinical Psychologists
Dr. Perry Brown is Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky and a Masters degree from City College of New York. He has been practicing psychology for over 30 years, and currently specializes in the field of bariatrics. He has performed over 4000 pre-surgical psychological evaluations in the last 6 years. His clinical experience includes psychotherapy with adults and children, psychological testing, consultation and adult education. In recent years, he has specialized in working with people with eating disorders.
Dr. Jennifer L Scott, PsyD, is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and obtained both her MS and her doctorate from Antioch New England Graduate school in New Hampshire. Dr. Scott has been practicing in Kentucky for approximately 4 years. Dr. Scott’s interest in weight loss surgery patients stems from her use of the biopsychosocial framework, an area of health psychology which integrates the body and the mind. Dr. Scott also has a private practice here in Lexington counseling children, adolescents and adults. Read Dr. Scott's bio in full.

Professional Nutrition Specialist
Julie H. Peterson, MS, RD, LD attended Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University and the University of Kentucky where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and a Masters Degree in Dietetics Administration. She is a Certified Food and Workplace Safety Specialist, Certified Pilates and yoga Instructor and Certified ServSafe Alcohol Instructor. Julie is a professional public speaker, particularly in regards to the metabolic needs of the elderly. Noteworthy presentations include speaking engagements at the Annual American Dietetics Association's Food and Nutrition Conference, North Carolina's Annual Dietetics Association's meeting as well as Kentucky's Annual Dietetic Association's meeting all in regards to current methods of metabolic testing and implementing current metabolic technology into clinical practice. Her work experience covers all areas of food and nutrition, she currently teaches aerobic classes at the YMCA, performs Food and Workplace Safety Evaluations for EcoSure, and recently served as a Dietary Consultant for DCI, Inc. and has most recently added Professional Nutrition Specialist for Central Baptist Hospital Surgical Weight Loss Center. Financial Counselor
As our financial counselor, Susan Gaines helps patients navigate the confusing insurance and financial terrene of weight loss surgery. Susan will verify your benefits and your financial obligations at every encounter with Central Baptist Surgical Weight Loss Center. She can also accept your payment prior to surgery, diet consults and lab work. Susan works closely with the insurance team at Bluegrass Bariatric Surgical Associates to provide you with the most accurate information possible.
